T-56 Trans Installation (cont)

View of the tunnel cut with trans installed. The
cut can be done in one piece & then the factory
tunnel can be kept intact.

I used a cardboard pattern to make the new tunnel
formed from sheet metal (over my thigh!). It was
made from 2 pieces.

New tunnel installed. I had to add a 'kickout' to box
around the reverse lockout solenoid that wasn't on
the trans when I test fitted (Ooops!). I then sealed
the added box-out as I did the rest of the tunnel to the floor.

After installing the repro front console bracket &
adapting the rear console mount, I installed new
carpet (plenty of material to fit the taller tunnel). The finishing touches of the Hurst stick & 6 speed shift ball  (both from Hurst/Mr Gasket). The result is the "Restified" look.
