The annual Martinsville Fall Foliage Festival Car Show was held at West Middle School in Martinsville on Saturday, October 9. This event was planned as an HSCA club outing at a previous club meeting. The show was well attended with around 150 vehicles total. The weather started out cloudy and ended up sunny and mild. It was a nice, relaxing, fun day and the setting was pleasant with grass, trees, and so many beautiful cars. The Fall Foliage Festival was going on a few blocks away.
The HSCA banner was set up and the HSCA members' Chevelles were parked nearby. Von and Nancy Cassidy, Clarence and Susan Craig, Larry Deckard and his girlfriend Beckie Grounds, and Rick Hornback were there with their Chevelles. Tom and Melissa Mikesell were there with their Studebaker pickup. Florence Collins and Don and Pam Arthur were also there.
The show was a judged event and HSCA did very well with awards. To start off, Florence Collins won the 50/50 drawing. Larry Deckard and Rick Hornback won Top 40 awards, Clarence Craig won the Chairman's Choice award, and Von Cassidy won Best of Show-Car.
As Clarence later said, it was a great day
