The Midwest Chevelle Regional was held in St. Louis September 18-20. It was a 1000 point fully judged show hosted by the Gateway Area Chevelle Club. A total of 104 cars were on the show field per the event chairman. HSCA members that attended with their Chevelles were Dennis Barnett with his survivor '67 Malibu convertible, Steve Brody with his restified '65 L79 tribute 2 door wagon, Clarence Craig and his Pro Touring '71 convertible, and Larry Deckard with his original owner low miles '66 SS hardtop. The weather was nice and all had a great time. There were some judging issues with some but when aren't there? Dennis, Steve, and Clarence won their classes and Larry got second in his class. Clarence won the Best Paint award with his Torch Red drop top.
The 2004 ACES Chevellabration will be held again at Moss-Wright Park in Goodlettsville, TN, June 3-5, 2004. The host hotel will be new this year. It's the Baymont Inn. If you plan to attend, reserve a room ASAP if any are still available. You MUST mention you are with the ACES group to get the special rate of $65 and to even get a room at this point. Chuck Hanson of ACES has reserved a block of rooms just for ACES members but outside that block of rooms the hotel was booked up for that weekend as of early October, 2003.
