May 10th- SPC Stephen P Downing II Memorial Car Show- in Mooresville, IN at Southbridge Crossing. The car show is being put on in hopes of raising money for a memorial and scholarship in Steve's honor at Mooresville High School. This would probably be a good "season opener" if you will, for as many of our HSCA members as possible to get together at an event. Directions to Southbridge Crossing are: South on SR 67 to Mooresville. Go past SR 144 to next stoplight (by Gray's Cafeteria) and turn left (east). There's a CVS and Marathon Sta on the corner. Go 1/2 block and you're there. Just before the light on the left there's a NAPA, Big O Tires, and Arbys. The show is behind the Marathon Station and Advance Auto Parts. May 18th- Our May HSCA meeting will be a club picnic/meeting on Sunday May 18th at 1:00pm at Tom & Deb Farrington's garage in the Greenwood area. Cruise your cars on out for a good time. Bring a dish to pass & your lawn/car show chair. Farringtons will be grilling the meat & the club will be providing the soft drinks. The location is: 4738 Old Smith Valley Road, Greenwood.
May 24th- Summer Place Car Show in Sharpsville, IN, north of Tipton on SR19. Several of our club members attended last year & had a ball. It's an old town complete with 50's diner, barber shop, theatre, filling station, etc. at Jim & Tricia Richardson's property. The proceeds from the show go to "A Home for Every Child" adoption charity. Car show pre-registration by May 10th gets a T-shirt. It's located at 4190 North State Rd. 19, Sharpsville, IN 46068. Gates open at 10:00am, car show starts at 12:00 noon, & awards at 3:00pm. More info at: www.asummerplace.org .
June- Our June meeting is being set aside in lieu of Chevell-abration in Goodlettsville, TN on June 5th through the 7th. An annual ritual for many of our club members, we make the trip to what seems like the center of the universe for Chevelles. With the car show Thursday through Saturday, drag racing Thursday night, some laps around the Nashville Super Speedway Friday night, games, etc., an all-around great time is in store. If you wish to enter a car in the show, you MUST pre-register & you MUST be an ACES member (an ACES application is built in to the show registration form, plus is included in our newsletters). To attend & be a spectator, you can pay at the gate by the day or weekend (open to the public). More info at: www.chevelles.com/aces . For those that want to cruise down together, several of our club members are planning to meet at the McDonalds at Greenwood exit #99 off I65 on Thursday morning the 5th with a departure time somewhere between 7:30 & 8:00am.
