This issue's member spotlight is on Rod and Cheryl Seaman. They have been married for 12 years and reside on the east side of Indy. They have an 18 year old daughter, Heather, who is about to graduate from high school and plans to attend Wyotech automotive school to specialize in interiors. Rod is 41 and was born in Dayton, OH. He also lived in Baton Rouge, LA and Hollywood, FL while growing up. He works for Sprint as a network engineer and has a computer business on the side called RCS Enterprises, which is also a hobby. His first car was a '72 Pontiac Ventura he shared with his mom until he added side pipes, air shocks, wide rear tires, and a tunnel ram. Rod bought his first Chevelle, a '70 SS 396, at 17 years old. Later he traded it in for a '76 Corvette. After that he had a Mitsubishi Conquest Turbo, a Nissan 4wd truck, Eagle Talon AWD Turbo, Chrysler New Yorker, and Plymouth Grand Voyager, which he still uses as a daily driver. Cheryl is 43 and was born in Philadelphia. Her first car was a '77 Dodge Monaco Brougham with " cop tires, cop suspension, and cop engine" (OK I made that up). It was the family car but she wrecked it and her parents felt it was a fitting punishment that she should buy it. She married, had Heather, was widowed, then met Rod about 15 years ago. She made the mistake of feeding him real home-cooked meals and couldn't get rid of him. She works as a Health Care fraud Investigator and has been a Sunday School teacher and Girl scout leader. She has too many hobbies to mention and is looking forward to Heather going away to school. Two years ago Rod yearned for another sporty car and decided on a Chevelle. He found their current '70 SS via the internet in Texas and went and got it. They then replaced the engine, trans, rear end, and exhaust system with a 500 hp 454, 700R4, headers, posi, etc. It's currently undergoing some upgrades which are outlined in the Tidbits column. They hope Heather gets good at interiors quick because their Chevelle needs a new one bad.
