This issue's Member Project is Otis Bailey, Jr.'s new garage/shop. He did the drawings and specs himself for his den of automotive bliss. It's 40 ft x 50 ft with 14 ft high ceilings and a 6" sealed concrete floor with 25 ft x 50 ft concrete apron in front Amish Builders built the basic building over 179 tons of compacted limestone to level the site and Otis took it from there. It has 4" insulated walls and R-30 in the ceiling and a 125,000 BTU propane heater. 220V outlets are every 10 ft and 120V outlets are every 8 ft with buried power service. Otis is installing the lighting at this time. It's plumbed for water and has a center floor drain. So far one 9000 lb 2 post lift has been installed with the possible addition of a 4 post version in the future. An interesting feature is that everything is mounted on wheels so it can easily be rearranged or to empty the garage in 15 minutes. Otis says it may never be 100% complete but what project is? BTW the cat pictured is the neighbor's, named "Pro Stock", who took up residence there to keep mice away. Wouldn't we all like to have a garage like this? Pictures below and on next page.
