This issue’s Member Spotlight is on Ward and June Cleaver, I mean Tom and Deb Farrington. Tom is the Vice President of HSCA and Deb is a very active member. They own a ’66 Malibu Pro-Touring style currently under construction, a ’64 Chevelle wagon driver undergoing constant improvement, a ’67 short bed truck (in pieces), and other neat cars and parts.
They reside in the Greenwood area and both work for the Indianapolis Fire Dept. Tom is a member of the Indiana National Guard. They’ve both also worked in the residential construction field. Tom is 34 and Deb is 33. They have a 10 year old daughter and 7 year old son. Tom was born in the Panama canal zone while his father was stationed in the military there. Deb was born in Michigan, where they met while in high school in 1985. Tom had a ’66 Malibu in high school and later a ’67 SS, which he sold to buy an ’84 Mustang GT (oh, the shame of it). Next thing they knew, 15 years had gone by and they hadn’t done any car stuff. In that time they had gotten married, Tom had joined the Guard, and they had moved to Indy. They had also talked about their desire to get another Chevelle. In Spring, 2002, Tom was in California for Guard training and decided to look for a Chevelle to buy there (rust-free cars). Deb came out and together they found the ’66 Malibu currently in their garage. A trailer was purchased and they towed it back to Indy. Since then a long but painstakingly first class restification has been taking place. A 2005 completion is the target.
Other interests for both include fitness, such as running, weight lifting (don’t mess with them), biking, swimming, etc.
We are pleased to announce two new members to the club.
