John P. McEwen Jr. 54 of Indianapolis, was born in Chicago, IL April 5, 1953 and died August 17, 2007. He was the beloved son of Margaret Ruth (Chellman) and John P. McEwen Sr. who survive. Until being diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy he had been a truck driver for Gold Shield Solvents for 15 years and recently worked part-time for the Childhood Leukemia Foundation. He was a member of the Hoosier State Chevelle Club and the American Chevelle Enthusiast Club (ACES). In addition to his parents he is survived by; son John P. McEwen III (Leigh Ann); daughter Heather McEwen; stepson Michael Potts (Cindy); brothers Todd William (Viki) of Pittsboro, IN Richard Dean (Marla) of Jeffersonville, IN; sisters Catherine Wilson (Steve) of Pittsburgh, PA, Beth Verhonik (Bill) of Plainfield IN; 2 grandchildren, 6 nieces and nephews, 1 great niece. Funeral services will be held Monday August 20, 2007 11am in St. Andrew's Lutheran Church 6118 Crawfordsville Rd.Speedway with visitation from 10am. Entombment will follow in WestRidgePark. The following are pictures of John’s funeral.  The family wanted John’s car up front, driven by HSCA President Tom Mikesell.  And the other Chevelles followed John’s car, in front of the family.  Ironically, the photos show that 3 of the 4 Chevelles are ‘67s, and 1 ‘66.
