Blue was originally an Arkansas car, a true Super Sport, all matching numbers, 396cid, SS Wheels, the whole enchilada . . . fortunately or unfortunately depending on your perspective, that all changed immediately as I began grooming my new Stepford Wife for life in the fast lane . . . the car, for the most part, had been kept immaculate however the 396 seemed to be getting a little tired. Having access to a couple of 427’s and 454’s, I chose the latter and that funding for a college education is detailed on another page titled “engine fabrication”. Wanting to keep the originality of the street neat era was not a problem as the interior was black with bucket seats and of course a four speed console. I did add a Custom Auto Sound, 2-knob, period correct, AM/FM, MP3, digital CD player, a Kicker ZX700.5 5 Channel Amplifier, Kicker CVT12 Subwoofer, KS Series Oversized Speakers, two Rockford Power 5.25 modules and Hushmat™ sound conditioning throughout. All components were carefully contained within the 2-knob deck and glove compartment. Oh, also innovative to Blue is the original Chevrolet Model 7305301/A under dash 8-Track Tape Player complete with its bow-tie.

Although the exterior retains the stunning Lemans Blue Metallic paint with contrasting white Super Sport strip, the original SS Wheels just did not draw that “deer in the headlight look” I distinctly remember always getting with my personal favorite . . . Cragar SS® . . . Soooooooo, Cragar SS® Wheels and complementing P295/50 R15 Radial Pro Street on the rear and P215/65 R15’s steering the front end . . . Nothing like a return trip down memory lane
